Dr. Lea is a licensed psychologist in Delaware and through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), Dr. Lea is able to provide teletherapy services to an ever increasing number of states. Dr. Lea completed his post-doctoral residency at Mid-Atlantic Behavioral Health. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Center for Counseling & Student Development at the University of Delaware and earned his doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University, an APA accredited program. Dr. Lea also completed a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Dr. Lea has diverse clinical outpatient experience doing short and long-term therapy with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. Dr. Lea has experience practicing in several university counseling centers, a veterans affairs hospital, and a community health clinic. Dr. Lea also has experience running structured and open-process psychotherapy groups.
Dr. Lea currently sees adult clients for individual and couples treatment. His specialties include treating issues related to general mental health, trauma, depression, anxiety, family/relational issues, grief counseling, life transitions, and couples work. Dr. Lea takes an integrated approach to his therapy utilizing existential, interpersonal, and CBT methods. Overall, Dr. Lea tailors his therapeutic approach to the individual needs of his clients and feel the therapeutic journey is a shared experience.
